Chandigarh: The Kharkhoda police of Sonepat district of Haryana have arrested a man from Gopalpur village for allegedly killing his wife and son. Police have said that the incident took place at around 3 a.m. on Saturday, April 8. ACP Kharkhoda Jeet Singh and station in-charge Inspector Sunil Kumar, along with the police and forensic department teams, are investigating after reaching the spot.

According to villagers, Shamsher, a resident of village Gopalpur, killed his wife Kusum (26) by stabbing her with a sharp weapon and his son Ishant (7) by strangling her at around 3 a.m. on Saturday. Police say that the real reasons for the murder are being ascertained. The police have arrested the accused husband.

While giving information about the case, Kharkhoda's ACP, Jeet Singh, said, 'A man is accused of killing his wife and son in Gopalpur village. He is being interrogated in custody. All the facts will be revealed in that. The woman was attacked and killed with a sharp weapon, and the son has a mark on his neck. Due to which it appears that his throat must have been strangulated. At present, the accused husband is being interrogated in the case.
