Sonu Nigam, who won everyone's heart with his voice in Bollywood, recently recalled his conversation with government officials and said that 'when he was asked whether he would accept the 'Padma Shri' award. So in an interview, Sonu revealed that 'he had initially said that he would not be able to accept the award.' In fact, the singer also talked about people getting the award because of lobbying, although it was given to him 'from the universe'. During this time Sonu Nigam also said that he had prepared the answer in anticipation of such calls.

He thought that he would answer 'Don't you think it is too late to give me 'Padma Shri'? With this he told the officer who had called him that this honour was given to those who were in his 15 Years later, he came to the music industry, five years before him. In a conversation with a famous website, Sonu Nigam said, "You guys are giving me 'Padma Shri' now? You guys have been teasing me for a long time. We are also human and we too get caught in these temptations. Who will be honoured with the award and who will not like it? Those who do not get it, they call it that way. It is a good feeling to be praised and recognized at the right time. Justice delivered late is not called justice. So I said, 'I won't be able to accept this award. I said, 'It's too late for that. Now you are giving me Padma Shri. I have passed that stage of hope and I have stopped looking in that direction a long time ago. He further told that after talking to him for about 10 minutes, he ended the call saying that he has to call his father. He recalled that moment and said that he suddenly realized that he did not lobby for the award, but it came to him. He further said that it is something that has come to me from the universe.'

He further said that there is a lot of lobbying for such awards. He also said that some people did this for him 'before, two or three times. The singer said that he had told him that 'If he got the 'Padma Shri' 'like this, he would not be able to enjoy it. He said, "'I also know who nominated my name." He is a great classical singer. I will ask him one day if I can tell his name publicly someday or not. Everything has happened so beautifully because he told a musical authority nominated by name, 'You should give it to them because it's too late.' Sonu was honoured with the country's fourth-highest civilian honour 'Padma Shri' last month.
