Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has approached the Supreme Court in a case related to alleged illegal construction. Sonu Sood has challenged the decision of the Bombay High Court. In the case of illegal construction, the Bombay High Court has denied any relief to Sonu Sood. Sonu Sood has gone to the Supreme Court seeking a ban on notices given under the MRTP Act.
BMC has sent a notice to Sonu Sood for converting a 6-story residential building located in Juhu into a hotel. It is alleged that Sonu Sood converted this residential complex into a hotel without permission. BMC has sent a notice to Sonu Sood under the MRTP Act for this alleged violation of the law. In the petition filed through the same advocate Ujjwal Anand, D Kumman, Sonu Sood said that the BMC commissioner had given partial permission for construction in his bungalow.
He is now waiting for approval from the Mumbai Coastal Regulation Zone Authority in this case. Sonu Sood has argued in his petition that since he has received partial approval, in this case, the notice should not have been issued. Earlier, the High Court rejected Sonu Sood's plea. It has been argued in the Bombay High Court on behalf of BMC that the actors have been continuously breaking the rules in the illegal construction case.
