The gruesome killing of Shraddha caught everyone’s attention. The accused Aftab Poonevala killed his live-in partner and chopped her into the pieces. The case created a ruckus all over as the accused was Muslim and various people claimed it a case of Love Jihad. Sony Entertainment Television (SET)’s widely popular crime anthology series ‘Crime Patrol’ televised a horrific case  and it was very similar to Shraddha Walker’s murder. Boycott Song started trending as users were disappointed as the serial distorted the facts and changed the religious identities of the victim and the culprit.

Now Sony LIV has deleted the Shraddha Walkar episode of the true crime anthology series ‘Crime Patrol’ from the app. The link now shows a “Content Not Found” message. Now Sony Tv has issued an official apology and claimed that it was not the recent case but an old case of 2011.  It is common in crime serials to change the name to not to reveal the name but in this case they not only changed the name but also the religion of the accused.

The episode of ‘Crime Patrol’ portrayed the victim, Shraddha Walkar, as a Christian girl named ‘Anna Fernandes’, while, Aftab Poonawalla, a Muslim man was depicted as ‘Mihir’ in the crime anthology series. The duo is also seen marrying at a temple in the episode. The episode shows the duo based out of Pune, even though Aftab and Shraddha were based out of Delhi, where the former brutally killed her and later severed her body parts to be discarded at different places across the NCR region
