Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria’s much-awaited film Student of the Year 2 has released. The film is receiving mixed reviews from the audience. Ananya and Tara are making their debut in the film industry with this film. The film opened up with a collection of Rs 12.06 crores and the movie really progressed on Saturday. Student of the Year 2 is now Tiger Shroff's second highest opener so far. His 2018 film action drama Baaghi 2 bagged Rs 25.1 crores. SOTY 2 collected Rs 14.02 crores on its second day.

Noted Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh the box office collection of the film and wrote, “#StudentOfTheYear2 saw limited growth on Day 2, while the sixth phase of polling [cinemas were shut till evening] + #IPL2019Final [evening onwards] affected its biz on Day 3… Fri 12.06 cr, Sat 14.02 cr, Sun 12.75 cr. SOTY 2 Box Office Collection: Tiger Shroff's film witness a decent growth on day 2

SOTY 2 is a sequel of the 2012 film Student of the Year featuring Alia Bhatt,Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra. The second part has a special song 'The Hookup Song' starring Alia and Tiger. Moreover, Hollywood fame Will Smith also made a special appearance in the movie in a song.

Recently, the director of the movie, Punit Malhotra threw an after party to celebrate the film's successful opening. The actors Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria were also present at the party. Karan Johar, the producer of the movie was however missing from the party.
