Veteran Bengali actor Soumitra Chattopadhyay passed away on 15th November this year. He was about to play an important role in Manas Mukul Pal’s forthcoming biopic film based on Dinesh Gupta. After the demise of Soumitra, filmmaker Manas faced a lot of problem in replacing him. During an interview, the young filmmaker said, “I really didn't know how to handle this, whom to cast in place of Soumitra Da. I wrote the character keeping him in mind and now, I can’t figure who can replace him.”
Meanwhile, another veteran and brilliant actor Mithun Chakraborty is also going to play a vital role in this biopic of Dinesh Gupta. He is ready to start the shoot early next year for this film. Apart from Mithun Chakraborty, the remaining cast of the film will be from theatre background. The lead role will also be played by a new face.
Talking about Dinesh Gupta, he was an Indian freedom fighter who fought against the British rule in India. He made history after launching an attack on the Secretariat Building at Dalhousie Square in Kolkata. He was accompanied by Badal Gupta and Binoy Basu.
