Renowned sound editor of Hindi cinema Nimish Pilankar died in a tragic accident in Mumbai during the ongoing 50th Indian International Film Festival in Goa. These days Nimish, who has earned accolades for his work in films like Housefull 4 and Marjawan, was struggling with workload and working continuously these days. According to doctors, due to high blood pressure, his brain was affected and his brain stopped working. Nimish was just 29 years old. Nimish's first big job in Hindi cinema was sound editing in Salman Khan's film Race 3. He has been identified as a very energetic and hardworking technician.

Since Race 3, he has also worked in films like Jalebi, Kesari, A Girl Seen Aisa Laga. Nimish was also seen working day and night in recent days for the recent release web series Confusion on G5.

No major actor, producer or director of Hindi cinema has paid tribute to Nimish's death so far, but Khalid Mohammed, the editor of Filmfare magazine and a writer associated with many classic films, has given Hindi cinema fiercely on this issue. It is creepy. He says that the Hindi film industry has not been able to do anything special for its technicians so far. Neither working hours are fixed nor do they get fair credit. The film industry should learn a lesson from the incident with Nimish.
