New Delhi: India retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy by beating Australia by three wickets in the fourth and final Test to win the series 2-1. India had a target of 328 runs, losing six wickets. Shubman Gill scored 91, Rishabh Pant unbeaten 89, and Cheteshwar Pujara 56.
This is the first defeat in the past 32 years at the GABA Ground in Australia, while India had their first win here. BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly is also shocked by the win. In a tweet, he expressed his happiness. Sourav Ganguly wrote, "What a wonderful victory. Go to Australia and win the Test series like this. Indian cricket will always be remembered. BCCI has announced a bonus of Rs 5 crore for the team. The value of this win is greater than any number. Commendation to every player who is going on tour."
Earlier, the BCCI has announced a bonus of Rs 5 crore to the Indian cricket team. In a tweet, Secretary Jai Shah congratulated the Indian team and announced the bonus. In a tweet, Shah wrote, "BCCI has announced Rs 5 crore as bonus for the team. This is a special moment for Indian cricket. The team presented an unmatched pattern of their spirit and skill," he said.
