New Delhi: Sourav Ganguly, better known as "Dada," has been one of the game's most outstanding players and has made significant contributions to the team and management. His parents gave Sourav Ganguly the moniker "Maharaj," which translates to "Prince." Geoffrey Boycott later referred to him as "The Prince of Calcutta," and this is how people have referred to him ever since.

After his tenure as BCCI president came to an end, Ganguly was rehired as the Delhi Capitals' Director of Operations. The former cricketer is recognized as one of the greatest captains in Indian cricket history after leading the team to the Champions Trophy triumph in 2002 and the 2003 ODI World Cup final.

.Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, and Zaheer Khan were all given opportunities to develop as players while he was captain of the Indian team, and they all went on to become legends of the game.

Ganguly has an extensive list of accomplishments:-

• One of just five ODI cricketers to have scored 10,000 runs, taken 100 wickets, and  made 100 catches.

• He is the only player to ever score three century in the ICC Champions Trophy.

Top Awards:-

He has received various honours for his great contributions to sports like Sports Star Person of the Year, Arjuna Award, CEAT Indian Captain of the Year, Padma Shri 2004, Rammohan Roy Award are top among them. He was named ODI Man of the Match 31 times. In Test cricket, he won six Man of the Match honours. On May 20, 2013, the West Bengal government bestowed the Banga Bibhushan Award to Sourav Ganguly.

• In the ICC Champions Trophy final, Sourav Ganguly set the record for the highest individual score (117) by a batsman.

• He is the only cricketer to have garnered four straight One Day International man of the match honors.

• He led India to victories in 11 of the 28 matches he captained, keeping his name on the list of the most successful test captains. Virat Kohli broke the record in 2019, despite that.

• He ranks third among Indians and is the ninth-highest run scorer in ODI history (11363), behind Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. In the Cricket World Cup, he scored 183 runs, the highest total ever by an Indian batsman.

These were a few of his career's high points, and Ganguly's name continues to have a tremendous impact on the cricket community.
