Cape Town: The top-of-the-line SUV XUV 700 won the hearts of car buyers across India, and now Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (M&M), an Indian multinational automaker, has announced that it has also introduced the hugely popular SUV Is in South Africa.
According to the company, the starting price of the XUV700 is 4,74,999 South African Rand i.e. around Rs 10,000. 22,48 Lakh in Indian Rupees. The company will offer South Africa's only petrol engine option with the XUV 700 in 3 variants: AX5, AX7, and AX7L.
Since its launch in August 2021, Mahindra has sold a ton of the XUV 700, which is one of the company's most popular models. So much so that the business currently has open reservations for 80,000 units of this model.

Mahindra recently confirmed an increase in the waiting period, which has gone up to 18 or even 20 months for some of its variants. The XUV700 can currently be produced by Mahindra at a rate of 6,000 units per month, but the company recently announced plans to increase production to 10,000 units per month by the fourth quarter of 2024 with additional investments.
According to Mahindra, it is currently capable of producing up to 29,000 units per month. To meet the demand and reduce the waiting time for customers, Mahindra plans to increase its monthly production capacity to 49,000 vehicles by the fourth quarter of 2024.
The company announced that it will invest Rs. 7,900 crore over the next three years to upgrade its production line. Mahindra will soon have the capacity to manufacture 5,000 XUV300s, 6,000 Scorpio Ns, and 4,000 Thars.
With the additional funding, Mahindra aims to produce 9,500 XUV300s, 10,000 Scorpio Ns, and 6,000 Thar per month by the fourth quarter of 2024. The result should be a significant reduction in customer wait times.

The Mahindra XUV700 was introduced in August 2021 and immediately shot to the top of the sales charts. The monocoque-supported XUV700, which was introduced to replace the older XUV500, is available with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
Two engines are offered, each mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox: a 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 2.0-litre turbocharged gasoline engine.
Advanced Driver Assistance System, or ADAS, is available for the first time in the segment with the XUV700. Adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, autonomous emergency braking, driver drowsiness detection, front collision warning, lane keep assist and blind spot detection are just there. Some of the features that are included.
The SUV has also received a 5-star rating from GNCAP. It got 4 stars for child safety and 5 stars for adult passengers.
Starting at Rs. 12.49 lakh ex-showroom and going as high as Rs. 22.99 lakh ex-showroom, XUV700. It competes with Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari.

Additionally, the mid-range and top-of-the-line models of MG Astor, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun compete with the SUV.
