South Korean President Moon 's approval rating rises to 41pc: Poll

South Korean President Moon Jae-approval in's rating increased 0.7 percentage points to 41 percent last week, according to a weekly poll released Monday. According to the Realmeter survey, negative assessments of Moon's handling of state affairs decreased by 1.6 percentage points to 55.1 percent.

Last week, support for Moon's ruling Democratic Party increased by 0.6 percentage points to 31.9 percent, according to reports. Also, last week, the People Power Party, the main conservative opposition party, received 38.4 percent of support, down 0.6 percentage points from the previous week.

The minor center-right People's Party received 8.7 percent of approval, followed by the minor center-left Open Democratic Party, which received 4.9 percent, and the minor progressive Justice Party, which received 3.8 percent.

In terms of presidential candidate approval ratings, support for the Democratic Party's Lee Jae-myung increased by 0.1 percentage points last week to 36.8 percent.Yoon Suk-People yeol's Power Party support increased 1.4 percentage points to 42 percent last week. March 9 is the date set for the country's presidential election.
