Movie buffs of South Indian cinema will gear up for an exciting summer this year with multiple films gearing up for release. A few of the most-anticipated movies of 2019 will hit the screens this week starting Thursday.  From Super Deluxe to Lucifer, here are the films releasing this week:

Airaa

The trailer of the film has set the expectations very high, making it yet another big release this week in South. Starring Nayanthara in the lead role, Airaa is a horror drama. Nayanthara has played a double role for the first time in the upcoming film, which is Sarjun’s second feature.

Super Deluxe

It is easily one of the most-awaited films of 2019. This dark and intense drama has the attention of the world after the trailer was released recently. Super Deluxe is slated for release on March 29 worldwide and is the most awaited film in South this season.

Lakshmi NTR

Director Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming film Lakshmi’s NTR is based on the political struggles of movie-god NT Rama Rao. According to director Ram Gopal Varma, the film will depict the unknown story of his life where he was betrayed by people he trusted the most in politics.

Suryakantham

This is yet another rom-com from Tollywood, but the trailer promises that the film will have a different premise. Directed by Pranith, the film is titled after the yesteryear popular actress Suryakantham who was known for doing vibrant and dominating characters.

Lucifer

Lucifer will mark the debut of Prithviraj Sukumaran as a director.  If the recently released theatrical trailer is anything to go by, the first-time director seems to have whipped up an engaging, stylish political thriller that will please the core fan base of Mohanlal.
