Lakshmi's NTR is one of the most controversial films in recent times. Ever since Ram Gopal Varma announced his take on legendary Telugu movie star and Former Cheif Minister of Andra Pradesh NT Rama Rao. The film has created a series of controversies from its trailer to in getting a U certificate from the censor board. With some controversial content in the trailer, several complaints have been registered with the Election Commission to stop the film's release.

Telugu Desam party raised objections over the depiction of TDP supremo Nara Chandrababu Naidu and had filed cases in court but Telangana High court dismissed the petition and gave its nod to the movie's release. Even Andhra Pradesh's election commission refused to stall the movie before its release saying that it would review the issue after the movie comes into the theaters. After clearing all the hurdles, the film finally went to the censor board today and the members of the board gave it a clean U certificate with only minor cuts. Lakshmi’s NTR, the biopic is being created from the perspective of NTR’s wife, Lakshmi Parvathi. We have to wait and see if Lakshmi's NTR now releases as per the announcement. The film is directed by ace filmmaker RGV and is based on the Telugu Film Legend and TPD Party founder’s last year has not gone well with the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TPD) as certain Episodes in NTR’s life are historically uncomfortable for its current leadership.
