Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali might have just found his Sahir Ludhianvi and Amrita Pritam in actors Abhishek Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu, respectively. The director has wanted to begin his work on the biopic for long now. But after all the delay, it seems finally the cast has been finalized. According to the source, Abhishek Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu have been signed to play the leads respectively. The project will be bankrolled by Bhansali while Jasmeet Reen will write the script and direct it.

As per the daily, Abhishek will get into the shoes of Sahir Ludhianvi, while Taapsee will be seen as Amrita Pritam. Now, we have learned that the makers have zeroed in Taapsee Pannu and Abhishek Bachchan for the lead roles. This will be the duo’s second collaboration after featuring in Anurag Kashyap’s 2018 romance, Manmarziyaan. Also starring Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, the chemistry between both the actors in the film was applauded by the audience.

According to a source close to the development, the film is scheduled to go on the floors in October–December this year. Both the actors have loved the script and have nodded for the same. Meanwhile, SLB’s next directorial has him reuniting with actor Salman Khan after a hiatus of 20 years. The film, which has been titled has Inshallah, also features Alia Bhatt in the lead.
