Subbalakshmi has played the role of Sushant's grandmother in Dil Bechara. Subbalakshmi's granddaughter Saubhagya Venkatesh has shared a behind the scenes video of this film on social media, in which Sushant is seen swinging happily with Subbalakshmi during the shooting. The director of this film Mukesh Chhabra recently said in a conversation with a website, "Sushant was not only the hero of my first film as a director, but he was a dear friend, who was always there with me in tough times. We remained close from 'Kai Po Che' to 'Dil Bechara'."
He added, "He promised me that he will be in my first film. We made many plans together, had many dreams, but I never thought that I will be left alone to release this film. When I was making it, he used to show me lots of love, now when he is not there, his love will direct us." Saif Ali Khan is going to be seen in the cameo role in this film and the music in the film has been produced by composer AR Rahman and lyricist is Amitabh Bhattacharya.
