Ranchi: Amid demands for a debate on corruption by the opposition BJP in the Jharkhand assembly, speaker Ravindra Nath Mahato suspended 4 MLAs till August 4, a day before the monsoon session ends. MLAs Bhanu Pratap Shahi, Dhullu Mahato, Jai Prakashbhai Patel and Randhir Singh were dismissed from the House for indecent behaviour. As soon as the proceedings began at 11 am, the BJP MLAs trooped into the Well demanding the resignation of CM Hemant Soren over the debate on various allegations and corruption.
The ruckus continued even after Mahato made repeated appeals to allow the same House to function normally, prompting him to sack the MLAs. Amidst the uproar, he also adjourned the House till 12.30 pm.
In another case, Union Minister Arjun Munda attacked congress leaders who accused the BJP of destabilising the Jharkhand government. He said that a large amount of cash has been seized from 3 Congress MLAs, and the party is blaming the BJP for saving its image instead of responding. After the cash was recovered from three MLAs in Bengal, Congress MLA from Bermo in Jharkhand Kumar Jayamangal alleged that the BJP was trying to destabilise the state government on Sunday. He said Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has an important role to play in destabilising the Jharkhand government. On this, Munda said that such incidents are exposing Congress.
