Kochi: It has been more than a month since the lockdown was implemented due to Coronavirus in the country. Meanwhile, migrant labours have faced the most difficulties. Now after about 40 days, the work of sending all the workers back home has started. On the occasion of Labor Day on Friday, the train first ran from Telangana to Jharkhand, now another train will be run from Kerala to Odisha.

A special train will run from Ernakulam in Kerala to Bhubaneswar in Odisha. About 1000 labours will be allowed to sit in this train. Following the appeal of the Odisha government, the Railway Ministry has approved the running of this special train. However, during this period, workers will have to follow the rules like social distancing, sanitization, screening, quarantine. On the other hand, it has not been decided yet to run any special train for Karnataka.

Earlier on the appeal of the Jharkhand government, the central government has allowed a special train to run from Telangana to Jharkhand. In which more than 1200 labours have been allowed to sit. The Union Home Ministry had recently allowed the stranded labours, students, tourists and other people to return to other states. Some guidelines were issued for this. At present, the buses have been allowed to operate for the return of labours.
