Speedy bus hits motorcycle, 1 killed, another injured

Aurangabad:  A pillion rider died on the spot and the motorcycle rider sustained injuries after a bus hit their vehicle from behind at the traffic signal near Cidco Bus Stand, today at noon.

A resident of Parli, Shubham Shinde, along with pillion rider, was riding the motorcycle. He was waiting at the traffic signal near Cidco Bus Stand at 12 pm. Their vehicle was behind one bus. In the meantime, a speeding bus (Aurangabad to Jalna - which was without a conductor, hit their bike from behind. The accident was so severe that both the rider and pillion rider were pulled under the speeding bus. Shubham sustained severe injuries while the pillion rider died on the spot. Few passengers sitting in the bus also suffered injuries.

The assistant commissioner of police Deepak Girhe, police inspector Vithal Pote, police sub-inspectors M P Laad and Kailas Annaldat along with cops reached the spot. The police rushed the injured to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment. The cops also revived the traffic on the route after some time.

Irritated citizens smashed the bus after the accident. They claimed the accidents have become common due to the irresponsible driving of the buses at the signal. Shubham and five passengers of the bus are undergoing treatment at GMCH. Further investigation is on.
