Good news for Madhya Pradesh! SpiceJet is starting 8 new flights. Civil Aviation Minister, Jyotiraditya Scindia has said that budget airline SpiceJet will commence eight new flights from Madhya Pradesh starting July 16.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, the Civil Aviation Minister wrote - "Good news for Madhya Pradesh! Starting 8 new flights from July 16 onwards via @flyspicejet". He said, the new routes would be Gwalior-Mumbai-Gwalior, Gwalior-Pune-Gwalior, Jabalpur-Surat-Jabalpur, and Ahmedabad-Gwalior-Ahmedabad. He further said, that the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the aviation industry are committed to take the regional connectivity service 'UDAN' to greater heights.
The newly-appointed minister focus on Maintaining and extending the success of the regional connectivity programme. Under the regional connectivity scheme “Ude Desh ka Aam Nagarik” (UDAN), financial incentives from the Centre, state governments and airport operators are extended to selected airlines to encourage operations from unserved and underserved airports, and keep airfares affordable.
