SpiceJet is set to generate an estimated Rs.185 crore in revenue from its Haj flight operations in 2025. The airline has secured exclusive rights to operate Haj flights from four major Indian cities—Kolkata, Guwahati, Srinagar, and Gaya. The operation will transport nearly 15,500 pilgrims, marking an 18% increase compared to the 13,000 pilgrims flown in 2024.

For the upcoming season, SpiceJet will operate over 100 special Haj flights, utilizing both narrow-body and wide-body aircraft to meet the growing demand. The airline, which has been handling Haj operations since 2019, views this as a key part of its business strategy.

“Haj operations are not just a significant revenue generator for SpiceJet but also a matter of immense pride,” said Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer, SpiceJet. “We are honoured to contribute to such an important and spiritual journey for thousands of pilgrims and are fully committed to delivering a seamless, comfortable, and memorable travel experience.”

During the 2024 Haj season, SpiceJet deployed two wide-body Airbus A340 aircraft, each with a capacity of 324 passengers, ensuring a smooth travel experience for pilgrims. The airline has pledged to further enhance its services for 2025, focusing on increased comfort and efficiency for travelers.

Haj flights have proven to be a reliable revenue stream for the airline, complementing its overall operational portfolio.
