NEW DELHI: SpiceJet, a leading airline in India, has successfully reached a settlement agreement with Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC), a prominent lessor, regarding its Q400 aircraft. This agreement marks the resolution of all previous liabilities associated with the Q400s leased by NAC to SpiceJet.

Enhanced Fleet Expansion: Presently, SpiceJet operates five Q400 aircraft sourced from NAC. Additionally, the airline will soon be incorporating three more Q400 aircraft from NAC into its fleet, as confirmed in their official statement.

Repossessed Planes Reintegrated: It should be noted that the three planes in question were previously repossessed by the lessor. However, with this settlement, SpiceJet will reintegrate them into its fleet. This strategic move, combined with the ongoing fleet revival and restoration program initiated by the airline, will significantly bolster the number of aircraft in the SpiceJet fleet in the upcoming weeks.

Diverse Fleet Portfolio: SpiceJet boasts a diverse fleet comprising various aircraft models, including the Boeing 737 Max, Boeing 700, and Q400s. Such a versatile fleet enables SpiceJet to cater to the demands of its extensive domestic network, which encompasses 48 destinations within India. Furthermore, the airline extends its services to international destinations, further solidifying its global presence.

About SpiceJet: SpiceJet, which commenced operations in May 2005, has emerged as a prominent player in the Indian aviation industry. The airline operates approximately 250 daily flights, providing reliable and efficient air travel services to its valued customers.

SpiceJet's finalization of the settlement agreement with NAC signifies a significant milestone for the airline. The reintroduction of the three repossessed Q400 aircraft, in conjunction with the ongoing fleet expansion initiatives, showcases SpiceJet's commitment to enhancing its operational capabilities and meeting the evolving needs of its customers.
