Melbourne: Zahir Khan, a promising Afghanistan spinner, has been signed by the Melbourne Renegades for the Big Bash League Season 11 (BBL-11), which begins on December 5. After spending the previous two seasons with the Melbourne Stars and Brisbane Heat, Zahir Khan joins the Renegades. Zahir, a left-arm wrist spinner, has a diverse repertoire and has already made an impression in the BBL. In his 16 games, he has 14 wickets to his name and a 6.76 economy rate.

"I adore the Big Bash and was ecstatic to join up for my third season in this fantastic event," Zahir said in a statement released on Friday. "I'm grateful the Renegades have given me this chance to show what I'm capable of." Zahir has agreed to play for the entire competition.

BBL head coach David Saker commented, "We are excited to welcome Zahir Khan to our Renegades programme." "Over the last two years, he has shown some good signs in the Big Bash. He's a skilled bowler with a wide range of variations, and he's a young talent who will only get better." "Zahir bowls with a lot of intensity, and we believe he will give our bowling assault a point of distinction," Saker added.

Zahir joins Mohammad Nabi, an Afghan all-rounder, Reece Topley, an English fast bowler, and Unmukt Chand, an Indian batter, as overseas signings. The Renegades' playing roster for BBL-11 is now complete, according to Friday's news. Jon Holland, a Victorian spinner, and the club have mutually agreed that he will be removed from the list.
