"This seems to be the beginning of the sports culture that we had envisioned for India and which is now becoming a reality". He told Star Sports that "for Kabaddi to be a part of the next Olympics, we will do everything possible on our behalf. I am convinced of this". Kiren Rijiju did not explain how this would be possible, as incorporating a new sport into the Olympics is a long and complicated process.

First of all, the game should get recognition from the International Olympic Committee (IOC). After this, its governing body will have to seek the recognition of the International Federation from the IOC. The federation will then apply for inclusion as an Olympic sport. India has been dominating in kabaddi since the beginning, which is part of the Asian Games.
