COLOMBO: Sri Lanka's Parliamentary Selection Committee (PSC) has asked Colombo's five-star hotel Taj Samudra to provide a list of guests who were on the day of the April 21 Easter Sunday. In addition, a list of people who had breakfast at the hotel on that day has also been asked for. This was disclosed by the media on Thursday.

The announcement was made by Chairman Anand Kumarsiri during the PSC proceedings on Wednesday, according to a report in the Daily Mirror newspaper. Kumarsiri said that getting the list could help to understand why the terrorists who attacked several hotels finally left the Taj Samudra Hotel.

The five-star hotels that were targeted by the terrorists included Shangri-La, Sinaman Grand, Kingsbury and Tropical Inn. More than 250 people were killed and more than 500 injured in the most brutal attacks on the island nation since the end of the civil war in 2009. The attack was also linked to the attack at a mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand, in which more than 50 Muslims were killed.
