DHARAMSALA: Tibetan spiritual leader, His Highness Dalai Lama, has offered prayers for a swift end to the crisis in Sri Lanka.
Conveying deep grief over the ongoing crisis in Sri Lanka, a letter extended to the Sri Lankan Tibetan Buddhist Brotherhood Society reads, "His Holiness, Dalai Lama expresses hope for stability, prosperity and well-being to be promptly restored in the country.
"Dalai Lama is optimistic that no matter how difficult the situation may be, people will not lose their happiness and confidence in their ability to change the current circumstances for the better.
On his birthday, July 6, the Office of the Dalai Lama congratulated the group for actively promoting His Holiness' moral principles and devotion to the welfare of humanity.
His Holiness thanked Professor Chandima Wijebandara and Professor Miriswatte Wimalagnana Thero, as well as other scholars, in the letter.
"In fact, His Holiness was grateful for the well wishes he received from all Sri Lankan Mahanayake Theros. He extends his sincere gratitude to all the speakers and spiritual brothers for their good comments "the letter reads.
