Srinagar recorded the coldest night of the season at minus 1.4 degrees Celsius, so far the coldest was recorded on Sunday. An official of the local Meteorological office said the minimum temperature was was due to clear sky. "At minus 2.8 Pahalgam was the coldest place in Jammu and Kashmir". "Due to clear night sky expected till November 14, we expect the minimum temperatures to drop further in the coming days," the official said.

The Katra base camp town of Mata Vaishno Devi shrine has recorded the minimum of 12 degrees Celsius and the Jammu city recorded the minimum temperature of 12.2. Bannihal, Batote and Baderwah towns of Jammu region had 3.4, 6.8 and 3.4 degree Celsius as the minimum temperatures, respectively.  Leh town in the Ladakh union territory, recorded minus 10.6 and Kargil recorded minus 4.2 as the minimum temperatures on Sunday. 

Earthquake tremors felt again in Jammu and Kashmir

Few other regions in the valley whose night temperature is below the freezing point are Kupwara with minus 1.7 degree Celsius and Qazigund minus 0.6 degree Celsius. The renowned ski-resort of Gulmarg registered the temperature at minus 1.2 degree Celsius, 0.2 degree down from the previous night. Dry weather across Kashmir division for the next 6 days has been forecasted by the MET office and alerted for the possibility of active western disturbances from November 14 giving rainfall and snow across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.
