Sridevi's death:  Dubai Police record Boney Kapoor's statement

Dubai [U.A.E], Feb 27 (NT): In the sudden upshot of the demise of veteran actor Sridevi, the police recorded the statement of her husband and well-known producer Boney Kapoor, the Gulf News reported on late Monday night.

As per media sources, Boney Kapoor was call upon by the Dubai Police to Bur Dubai police station for inquiry. The police recorded his statement, after which he was permitted to go back to his hotel room.

Indian Envoy to UAE Navdeep Suri on Monday assured that the Indian embassy is putting every possible effort and trying hard to send mortal remains of Sridevi to India at earliest.

 In an interview taking to ANI, Suri stated, "Our embassy and consulate are working closely with local authorities to expedite the return of mortal remains of Sridevi and also keeping Kapoor family apprised. It is our endeavor to send mortal remains of Sridevi to India at earliest."

Following the release of the forensic report of Sridevi, who passed away in a hotel here on February 24, the Dubai Police transferred the case to the Dubai Public Prosecution to carry out the regular legal procedures which are normally followed in case of such circumstances.

Earlier, post-mortem analysis concluded which exposed that the 54-year-old Bollywood actress died of accidental drowning in her hotel room's bathtub, after suffering a dizzying spell and Traces of alcohol were also found in the actor's body, the report added. (NT)
