Iconic Bollywood actress Sridevi dies at 54, she was readying herself for a dream dinner date with husband Boney Kapoor in Dubai minutes before she suffered a cardiac arrest at their hotel room, which led to her death on Saturday evening. A source close to the family has revealed that Kapoor, a film producer, flew back from Mumbai and went to her room in the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel around 5:30 PM in the evening to "surprise" her with dinner.
The report further claims that Boney woke Sridevi up and the couple spoke to each other for 15 minutes before he invited her for dinner. To get ready, the actress went to the washroom. When she did not return for 15 minutes, Kapoor knocked on the door. On not getting any response, he had to force open the door to discover Sridevi lying motionless in the bathtub filled with water. "He tried to revive her and when he could not, he called a friend of his. After that, he informed the police at 9 pm," a source suggest
The actress was declared dead following the arrival of the police and paramedics on the site. The mortal remains were then sent to the General Department of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy. For the uninitiated, Sridevi, with her husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi, was in Ras Al Khaimah to attend the wedding of her nephew, actor Mohit Marwah. While the father-daughter duo returned to India, Sridevi stayed back for some shopping. However, Boney flew back to Dubai to surprise his darling wife with a 'surprise' dinner date.
