Last year on this day, Sridevi was making the most of Mohit Marwah’s wedding in Dubai. Little did her family know that hours later, they would get an irrevocable shock of their lives. Yes, it was that unfateful Sunday on February 25, 2018, when we all woke up to the sad news of the passing away of India’s first superstar, Sridevi Kapoor (though she had passed away on the night of February 24, 2018). It will soon be one year when Sridevi would have left us for heavenly abode, and her family and fans are still trying hard to cope up with the loss.

While call it her charisma, her acting skills, her beauty- Sridevi was a complete package of good looks and talent. One year has passed since Sridevi’s demise and her husband, Boney Kapoor has time and again shared how much he misses his wife. To commemorate one year of Sridevi’s death, the doting hubby has auctioned a favourite purple kota saree of the actress and the money earned through the same would go to a non-profit charitable trust, Concern India Foundation.

The auction is being hosted on a handscraft product website, Parisera, and to give you all a live update, the bidding amount began from Rs 40,000 and has already touched Rs 1,30,000. Sharing a memoir of Sridevi and some details about the bid, the statement at the Parisera website could be read as, “While the entire industry was awestruck by the unstoppable phenomenon called Sridevi, the audience was falling in love with a woman who was a firecracker in disguise. Only a few actors can be remembered for their screen names, Sridevi was definitely one of them.”
