PM Modi met with Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena for the second time within ten days on Sunday and the two leaders agreed that terrorism is a "joint threat" which requires joint action. PM Modi is the first foreign leader to visit Sri Lanka after a terrorist attack on Easter Day in April in Sri Lanka. His visit showcases India's solidarity with Sri Lanka after the attack.

After talks with President Sirisena, PM Modi wrote in a tweet that, "the president met with Maithripala Sirisena, who is the second meeting within ten days. President Sirisena and I agreed that terrorism is a joint threat to the world, on which joint action is required. We reiterated India's commitment to a shared, secure and prosperous future for Sri Lanka. "
