Staff Selection Commission, SSC has released the official notification for the Combined Higher Secondary Level, CHSL examination 2017. The examination is for recruitment of high school graduates or candidates who have cleared their 10+2 examination. The notification is available on the official website ssc.nic.in.

Candidates can check the eligibility, important dates and how to apply online here. A total of 3,257 posts of LDC, Postal Assistant and Data Entry Operators would be filled by means of this examination.  Candidates are requested to note that the notification was released on November 17, 2017, but the online application link has been activated on the website now. Interested candidates can fill the online application form till December 18, 2017.

Also, candidates are requested to note that only online applications can be made. Also, the examination is used for recruitment of Lower Division Clerk or Junior Secretariat Assistant (896 posts), Postal Assistant (2359 posts), Data Entry Operator (2 posts) and Data Entry Operator Grade A(Nil for 2017). 

Important dates for SSC CHSL 2017
Online Application for SSC CHSL 2017 begins: November 17, 2017
Online Application/ registration closes: December 18, 2017 
Last Date of Fee Payment: 
For online Fee payment – December 18, 2017. 
For Fee Payment by means of SBI Challan: December 20, 2017, provided the challan has been generated before 5:00 pm on December 18, 2017
Date of Computer Based Examination (Tier-I): March 4, 2018, to March 26, 2018
Date of Tier-II Examination (Descriptive Paper): July 8, 2018 

Eligibility for SSC CHSL (10+2) Exam 2017:
Indian citizens between 18-27 years of age as on August 1, 2018, are eligible to apply for the posts. Candidates ought to have completed a minimum of Class 12 examination. Candidates who are still appearing in the examination but would be able to provide the certificate by August 1, 2018, are also eligible to apply. For Data Entry Operator posts in the office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India, candidates are required to have passed from science stream with mathematics as a subject in their 12th boards. The relaxations for the age limit are applicable as per government rules. 

How to Apply:
Interested candidates are requested to carefully go through the notification available on the official website and fill the online application form on ssconline.nic.in. Candidates are required to pay Rs. 100. Female candidates and candidates of the reserved category are exempt from paying the fee. Please note, candidates would be required to provide the certificates for the category as and when demanded by the commission. 

The selection process included the Tier I examination which is a qualifier. Candidates who clear the Tier I examination, scheduled in March 2018 would then be called for the Tier II examination. The score of Tier I and Tier II would be used for preparing a provisional list of candidates who would be called for a skill test or typing test, as per the post applied for. Candidates are again requested to go through the instructions carefully before applying online.
