Ranchi: A day after the release of a poster containing photos of the perpetrators of the violent protests in Jharkhand's capital Ranchi, state Home Secretary Rajiv Arun Ikka on Wednesday evening asked the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) clarification on this alleged 'illegal' activity. Has asked Let us inform that after putting up the posters at many places in the state capital, the police had withdrawn them due to a "technical error". The police had said that it would rectify the mistake and release the poster.
According to a report, Ikka, Principal Secretary, Home, Prisons and Disaster Management, in a letter to the SSP said, "This is not lawful and is in violation of the order issued by the Honorable Allahabad High Court on March 9, 2020." He said, the honorable court had directed the state of UP not to put up posters containing personal information of people on the side of the road. This matter is nothing but undue interference in the privacy of the people. Therefore, it is a violation of Article 21 of the Constitution of India.
Significantly, after Nupur Sharma's remarks against Prophet Mohammad, there were protests in Ranchi. These protests later turned into violence and two people were killed in bullet injuries, while more than two dozen people were seriously injured. The police had issued posters of about 30 people involved in the violent protests, seeking information about them. A day after Governor Ramesh Bais summoned DGO Neeraj Sinha and other senior officials at the Raj Bhavan, the question was raised as to why preventive measures or action was not taken to disperse the crowd due to the agitation. Police said 29 persons have been arrested so far in connection with the incident. Tension still prevails in the state capital after the imposition of Section 144 in some parts of the city. Security has also been beefed up in Ranchi. Meanwhile, BJP National Vice President and former CM Raghubar Das visited the violence-hit areas on Wednesday and demanded an NIA probe.
'Nupur Sharma has said everything right about the Prophet...', know who said this thing?
