Srinagar: National Conference (NC) leader and former Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah on Saturday targeted Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal. "When Article 370 was removed from the Valley, where was Kejriwal? He stood with the central government at that time and today he is seeking support from other parties on the ordinance. In fact, at this time the AAP supremo is constantly meeting leaders of opposition parties in Delhi to gather support against the ordinance brought by the central government."

Speaking to the press in Rajouri in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Abdullah asked, "Where was Arvind Kejriwal when Article 370 was removed? At that time, he supported the Centre and today he is seeking support  from other parties." Kejriwal wants the ordinance brought by the central government to be repealed so that the power of transfer-posting in Delhi comes back in his hands. For this, he needs a majority in the Rajya Sabha.  This is the reason why different parties are pleading for support.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday met Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow and assured him that he stands with him against the Centre's ordinance. Akhilesh Yadav said that this ordinance is completely anti-democratic. I want to assure Chief Minister Kejriwal that SP stands with him and we will support you.

What is the Delhi government and ordinance case?

In its May 11 order, the Supreme Court had said that the Delhi government has control over all work related to service matters, including transfer-posting. At the same time, the central government was given control over the officers of all departments except land, police, and public order.  As soon as this power was received, the Kejriwal government ordered the sealing of the official chambers 403 and 404 of the Special Secretary Vigilance in the Delhi Secretariat and  removed Vigilance Officer Rajasekhar from his post. But, the central government brought an ordinance and then Rajasekhar got his post back. After this, it was found that Rajshekhar was investigating the Delhi liquor scam and crores of rupees spent on CM Kejriwal's bungalow. After his removal from the post, it was also revealed that the files kept in his office were tampered with. A video had gone viral, in which 2-3 people were seen scanning files in Rajshekhar's office at midnight. In such a situation, Congress leaders Sandeep Dikshit and Ajay Maken are saying that Kejriwal is opposing this ordinance not for the people of Delhi, but to save himself.  At the same time, these two leaders have appealed to the Congress not to support Kejriwal.
