As the Tata IPL season races towards its conclusion with only 17 matches remaining, cricket enthusiasts are not just witnessing thrilling games but also creating new records in viewership. In an official announcement, broadcaster Disney Star revealed that it has achieved significant milestones in terms of viewership.

According to recent data from BARC, Disney Star's broadcast channel for IPL, Star Sports, has attracted a staggering 51 crore viewers during the first 51 matches of the season. This marks a 5 percent increase from the previous high recorded in 2019 for the same number of matches.

Additionally, the broadcaster has experienced an 18 percent surge in total watch time, with fans spending a whopping 35,600 crore minutes glued to their screens.

Disney Star has also observed a 19 percent growth in TVR (Television Viewer Ratings) for the initial 51 matches compared to the 2021 season. With thrilling matches and no clear playoff qualifiers yet, the excitement among fans continues to escalate.

"The TATA IPL 2024 season is reaching its peak, and Star Sports is capturing the intense journey towards the playoffs with innovative programming," stated Disney Star in its release. It further added, "The battle for the top four positions promises nail-biting encounters, making this one of the most captivating races in IPL history."

Broadcasting the TATA IPL 2024 on 14 channels in 10 languages, Disney Star is also providing a dedicated feed in Indian Sign Language for fans who are Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, and Visually Impaired. The marketing campaign for this 17th edition of the tournament, titled “AJAB IPL KE GAJAB RANG,” revolves around the idea that a fan's true colors are revealed through their team's journey, with each IPL moment being experienced uniquely by different viewers.

This year, Star Sports has partnered with Tata Play and Airtel Digital TV to offer IPL matches in 4K resolution and has introduced Value Added Services for viewers' convenience.
