The first Starbucks coffee outlet in North-East India is planned to open on GS Road in Guwahati, right across from Aayakar Bhawan. According to reports, the new coffee shop is now under construction and will open in a matter of days.

According to a report published in the Guwahati Plus, the Tata group's Starbucks coffee business in India would soon establish two new locations in Guwahati, one at Guwahati Airport and the other at the Brahmaputra Heritage Centre in Panbazar.Both of these stores, however, will take time to open and serve customers.

According to sources, Starbucks Corporation and TATA Global Beverages opened their first shop in Mumbai in October 2012 as a joint venture.
