8 'Omicron' patients found in Indore!

Indore: The risk of 'omicron' in Indore, Madhya Pradesh is increasing day by day. In Indore, the samples of 8 suspected patients who returned from abroad recently were sent to a private medical college for genome sequencing have confirmed omicron variants. Out of these, 6 patients have been discharged and two are undergoing treatment.

In fact, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister and Indore Minister-in-charge Narottam Mishra confirmed the Omicron variant among Indore patients and said that about 3,000 passengers had come from abroad in Indore in the last few days. 26 people were found infected in their tests, out of which 8 have been diagnosed with omicron variants. Out of these 8, 6 patients have recovered and gone home. Two patients are undergoing treatment at MRTB. There are no serious corona patients among them. They are also likely to recover soon. Contact tracing of these 26 persons has been done and no symptoms have been found and all are fine.

It may be recalled that samples of patients whose samples have been tested in private labs were also sent to ILBS Delhi. The medical college had sent its report file to ILBS Lab in Delhi on December 24. The report was also sent to microbiologist Dr Rajesh Pandey. Dr Pandey has studied the report and confirmed Omicran's B.1.1.529 (BA.1) among suspected patients in Indore. The Delhi NCDC Department will officially release its report. Two of the 8 suspected patients who returned from abroad confirmed omicron variants had returned from New York and London. In addition, 1 person had returned from Dubai.
