Priyanka Vadra, Congress General Secretary and in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, has stepped up efforts to surround the government on the Mainpuri Navodaya Vidyalaya case like the Sonbhadra massacre and Unnao incident. First, he wrote a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for action. Yogi took quick action and removed the DM and SP of Mainpuri. According to media reports, Priyanka has again become an attacker on this matter. He tweeted that- 'Why UP is at the top in the crime against women, it can be gauged from the fact that the body was found in the hostel on 16 September. The student's family kept pleading that the truth is revealed, but nothing happened. He has written- 'The student was raped but, the administration of the UP government kept on trying the case for so long. This is the fourth such incident in front of us. Shameful.

On the morning of 16 September, the body of a student of Navodaya Vidyalaya was found hanging. On September 17, the student's father lodged a report in the sections of rape and murder, in which an unknown student was charged, along with a minor student, naming the then school principal Sushma Saga and the warden. The Principal was suspended and a CBI inquiry was recommended from the government level. In two months of investigation, the police did not reach any conclusion. Angered by the delay in investigation and action, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath transferred DM and SP of Mainpuri. Meanwhile, in the investigation report of the Agra Forensic Science Laboratory, the student of Navodaya Vidyalaya was raped.
