The state government of Uttar Pradesh has made a condition of planting 10 saplings in lieu of cutting a tree to protect the environment, reduce the effects of climate change and control the felling of trees. That is, now permission will be given to cut a tree only when the owner of the tree fulfills the condition of planting 10 saplings. For this, the Yogi cabinet has approved necessary amendments in the provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Tree Protection Act, 1976.

In the proposal of the Forest Department, there was a matter of planting a plant on cutting a tree. In the cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister has amended it and added the condition of planting 10 saplings instead of one tree. Along with planting saplings, they will also have to be looked after. With this amount, the Forest Department will plant trees. Only then trees will be allowed to be cut.
