Akhilesh Yadav, the national president of the Samajwadi Party, has sought the collective resignation of the Yogi Adityanath government. The Congress has also condemned the incident and questioned the law and order of Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh has tweeted that there should be a collective resignation of BJP government of the state, taking moral responsibility for the courage to burn Unnao's rape victim alive. He said that the Hon'ble Court is requesting that in view of the seriousness of this incident, he should give instructions for proper treatment and immediate arrangements for the victim.

Sunil Singh Yadav 'Sajan', a member of the Legislative Council from the Samajwadi Party, alleged that BJP's flag has been put on the car of the victim. Sunil reached the civil hospital to see the victim. During this, he announced that Samajwadi Party will bear all the expenses for the treatment of the victim. He said that women are not safe anywhere in UP. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath should resign from his post. He alleged that the accused have got patronage of BJP.
