GURUGRAM: Special Task Force (STF) of the Haryana police has detained an accused who was allegedly involved in making fake passports, visas, Voter ID cards, Aadhaar cards and other documents for gangsters.
Raju Nepali, a native of Nepal, has been named as the offender who was apprehended. The accused, who had changed his name to Bhairav Tiwari, was residing in the village of Chakkarpur in Gurugram.
Raju Nepali, the accused, was thought to be in contact with various gangsters, and an STF official received a tip about his whereabouts. After that, on July 27, a trap was set close to the Labour Chowk on the Gurugram-Faridabad Road, and the suspect was defeated.
The passport application for Samar Singh, a resident of Chakkarpur, and the appointment letter slip for Jaspal Singh, a citizen of Punjab, were both found in the custody of the accused by the police throughout the course of the inquiry.
The suspect revealed during questioning that Jaspal Singh just left jail on bail and now resides in the Maruti Kunj area of Bhondsi. He is relocating in order to obtain a passport.
Raju admitted to the police that he and Sonu, a resident of Delhi's Aaya Nagar, used to create phoney passports.
Senior police officer: "Raids are being done to arrest his accomplice. The accused is on four days police remand. Further action will be taken following disclosure during interrogation in the remand time.
At the DLF phase-1 police station in Gurugram, a case has been filed.
