NIA to probe Praveen Nettaru murder case.., Karnataka govt appeals to Centre

Bangalore: The murder case of BJP Yuva Morcha leader Praveen Nettaru, which took place in Karnataka, has taken a new turn. An inquiry has been recommended by the central agency NIA to probe the Praveen murder case. This recommendation has been made by the Basavaraj Bommai government of Karnataka to the Central Government. The state government has urged the Centre to get Praveen Nettaru's murder case investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

In Karnataka, police have arrested two persons from the Dakshina Kannada district in connection with the murder of BJP youth wing leader Pravin Netaru. The accused have been identified as Zakir (29), a resident of Savanur in the Haveri district, and Mohammad Shafiq (27) of Bellare. Police said, both the accused are behind the conspiracy to kill Praveen Nettaru.

Earlier, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Alok Kumar, while talking to the media in Sullia taluk of the district, said that the matter is being investigated from all angles. He also visited Bellare and reviewed the current situation. Alok Kumar said six teams have been formed with the assistance of Mangaluru city police commissioner and Udupi police to probe the murder.
