The mess on Instagram comes as several activists are trying to launch an awareness campaign about missing women. Instagram said the technical problem was not related to any subject or place but the impact of which was visible throughout the world where people were affected by the problem. Though the company did not mention India in it, many activists in the country have mentioned the problem on Instagram about updates related to corona virus. It is not clear whether the so-called bug has affected Indian consumers as well.

But Instagram has to say it wasn't their intention. Adam Moseri also said on Twitter that the technical glitch affected the stories, posts, highlights of millions of people around the world. He says many people thought Facebook-owned Instagram was deleting his post because of social media platform content or hashtags. The company chief also reiterated that the bug was not related to any subject.
