Lucknow: A case of firing has come to light in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) campus. It is being told that two bike-borne youths opened fire on the premises. The security personnel deployed on the spot caught one of the accused who was firing and handed him over to the police. The name of the arrested accused is Shoaib alias Choba, who is being interrogated. Whereas, the second accused absconded. The incident is of Saturday (12 November 2022).

According to the information, the incident is of the Civil Lines police station area. Here some students were sitting at the General Education Center (GEC) located near the Art Faculty of AMU. Around 12:30 in the afternoon, a youth riding a bike came and started threatening the students. When the rest of the students of the university started gathering against his action, the accused fled from there threatening. According to Aligarh police, it was the accused Shoaib. Assistant Proctor of AMU Syed Nawaz Zaid Ali has informed that after a while 2 accused came to the premises.

It is alleged that during this time both students also had weapons. As soon as they came back, both of them started firing. Hearing the sound of gunshots, the security personnel posted on the university campus rushed to the spot. Meanwhile, seeing themselves surrounded, both the attackers started running. The security personnel nabbed Shoaib during his escape. According to the information, during the search of Shoaib, a pistol and cartridges were also found from him.
