Subramanian Swamy also demanded that the former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao be given the Bharat Ratna, the nation's greatest civilian honor, for the reforms undertaken during his tenure. Subramaniam was making a statement here in "India - an economic superpower by the year 2030" organized by Pragya Bharti. During this time he said that although the country has achieved an economic growth rate of 8% from time to time, the reforms brought forward by the Congress leader did not show any further improvement.
