Churu: Churu in Rajasthan is popular not only in India but all over the world for its summer. In May itself, the temperature touched 50 degrees Celsius. The heat is such that the papad that we bake on gas in our homes is being roasted on the sands of Papad Churu in a few minutes in the scorching sun. Coming to 2019, the temperature here on 1st June is 50. 8 degrees Celsius was recorded. But this time a week ago, the temperature showed its mettle here. The scorching heat broke all its own records. For the second consecutive day, the temperature was recorded around 50 degrees Celsius. Thereafter, the streets of the city were covered with silence.

If talking about the success of  Lijjat Papad, it was about 62 years ago, on 15th March 1959. In south Mumbai, seven women decided to trade lizzat papad together. Jaswantiben Jamnadas Popat was the main of these women. She was accompanied by Parvatiben Ramdas Thodani, Ujamben Narandas Kundlia, Banuben Tanna, Laguben Amritlal Gokani, Jayaben Vithlani and another woman.

Jaswantiben and her friends were not intended to make a lot of money out of this business, but to share their family expenses. Papad was named Lijjat because in Gujarati the delicious is called Lijjat. Initially, women were Gujaratis, but slowly their business continued to grow, ignoring religion.
