Bhubaneswar: The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was test-fired from Chandipur, Odisha on Tuesday morning, which was successful. Defense sources have given information in this regard. Sources said that the missile, capable of hitting the ground, was launched from the mobile autonomous launcher at launch complex-3 in the Integrated Test Range (ITR ITR) at Chandipur at around 8.30 am.

According to the source, a successful test of the short-range, surface-to-surface BrahMos missile was conducted from ITR in Chandipur on 30 September 2019. BrahMos is jointly built by DRD and Russia's NPOM. The Indian Army, Navy and Air Force are using all 3 forces. Sources said that BrahMos is considered to be the world's fastest supersonic cruise missile.
