Damodar Das, priest of Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple located at Tilwara Ghat in Jabalpur, has said that all the temples of Hanumanji situated on the banks of Mother Narmada have special beliefs. It is said that Mother Narmada herself is coming here and taking darshan of Hanuman ji. It is said that someone definitely comes to this temple in the morning and leaves after having darshan.

Women are not allowed to touch the idol: The priest says that Hanumanji was a celibate and if the scriptures are to be believed, there is no prohibition for any woman not to touch a celibate. Therefore, a transparent shade has been installed around the idol of Hanumanji in the temple, so that women cannot touch the idol of Hanumanji. The priest has said that women are not allowed to touch the idol of Hanumanji in temples, due to which a transparent shade is kept around his idol 24 hours.
