Major train accident averted after coupling of the Malda-Kiul Intercity Express opened

Bhagalpur: A major accident was averted on the Bhagalpur-Kiul railway section of Bihar on Wednesday morning. The coupling of the Malda-Kiul Intercity Express opened at Sultanganj in the Bhagalpur district. The train was divided into two parts. This caused panic among the passengers. They got off the train and came on the tracks. Due to this, the train route was interrupted for about an hour.

According to the news received, the Malda-Kiul Intercity Express train opened from Sultanganj railway station at 10.42 am on Wednesday. About two kilometers ahead of the station, the coupling of the train opened. Due to this, the operation of the railway section was disrupted for about an hour. The Banka-Rajendra Nagar Intercity Express reached Sultanganj station at 11.17 am, but it was stopped there till 11.49 am.

With the opening of the same compiling, the engine moved ahead with 15 coaches, leaving four coaches of the intercity guard and general coach. The loco pilot stopped the train about a hundred meters away. After this, there was a stir among the railway officials. A team of technical and officials from the station reached the spot in a hurry. After that, the work of adding couplings started. At around 11.34 am, the intercity was transmitted after adding coupling.
