Kabul: 21 people were killed and 90 others injured in a suicide truck bomb blast at a guest house in Afghan. No one immediately fulfilled the responsibility of the attack in Pul-e-Alam, the capital of the country's Logar province, late on Friday night. It is also yet to be ascertained as to what the guest house has been targeted for. In Afghan, the government provides free accommodation in guest houses and is generally extended to the poor, passengers, and students.
The Home Department has blamed the Taliban for the attack, but the Taliban is yet to say anything about it. The attack comes a day before the official date when the process of withdrawal of US and NATO forces from Afghanistan is scheduled to begin. The Taliban have started demanding the withdrawal of all US forces by May 1. He has not given any guarantee of the safety of the returning forces.
It has been revealed that US or NATO forces have not been deployed in Logar province. Logar Province Council chief Hasib Stanakzoi said a group of local police was stationed there at the time of the attack and students from remote districts stayed in some rooms to appear for the college entrance examination. Home Ministry spokesman Tariq Arian said he was engaged in carrying out the attack. He said the roof of the guest house collapsed in the attack and more bodies are feared to be buried in the debris.
