New Delhi: After the country's capital Delhi, now the excise policy of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also come on the opposition's radar in Punjab. On Wednesday, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal and other opposition leaders met Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit in this regard and gave a memorandum against the excise policy.

Let us tell that only a few months after Bhagwant Mann became the CM of the state, the opposition accused the scam of Rs 500 crore. Sukhbir Singh Badal wrote in a tweet, 'Given a memorandum to the Governor of Punjab and demanded an order to be investigated by the CBI and ED in the scam of 500 crores done by the AAP government under the excise policy, which is in Delhi. Excise policy has been framed in the same way.'

It is to be noted here that, these serious allegations levelled by the opposition raise question marks on the functioning of the AAP government led by Bhagwant Mann which came to the state in March itself. In March, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) formed the government for the first time in a state outside Delhi with a historic victory. These allegations are being made at a time when the excise policy of the AAP government is under scrutiny in Delhi. Not only this but CBI raids have also been conducted at Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia's house regarding the policy. The ED has also registered a case in the matter and is engaged in the investigation.
